Summer 2014 - Towards our Centre and Source

Cover of Vision - Summer 2014 A warm welcome to the Summer issue of New Vision. I hope you find some sunshine to warm you in these pages and that New Vision continues to open windows for you. When mulling over the theme of this issue ~ Living Courageously ~ it struck me that it was actually St George's Day. How appropriate I thought. By 'chance' I began the day at a St George's Day Parade in the picturesque old fishing village of Emsworth, just a few miles from Bosham. Each year the village welcomes troops from the 47th Royal Artillery Regiment, who join veterans and children for a stirring parade through the village accompanied by the regimental band.

If this isn't enough to tempt you, James Ashby asks, 'Can the Church grow to Deeper Christianity?

Autumn 2013 - Freedom

The closer we become to the centre of anything ~ whether it be a person, a family or an organisation, the more clearly we see. Fish have the freedom of the seas, birds have the freedom of the skies but as humans we have the unique privilege of enjoying the freedom of fire ~ the domain of creative thought and intuition.

Summer 2013 - Change Your Thinking

Cover of Vision - Summer 2013The closer we become to the centre of anything ~ whether it be a person, a family or an organisation, the more clearly we see. If that is true for all these, it is certainly true of ourselves! It is worth reflecting that if the Divine is the centre of all real things, then when we approach the centre of anything we come closer to 'Him' ~ the Centre in which all centres are rooted. This can be mystically understood by remembering that 'God is an infinite sphere, the centre of which is everywhere, the circumference nowhere.'

Spring 2013 - The New Life

Cover of Vision - Winter 2013What is the New Life? We can look at it as the 'second birth', the awakening of the soul to its innate divinity. It was the Master Jesus who said: 'And no man putteth new wine into old bottles else the new wine dost burst the bottles and the wine is spilled and the bottles will be marred: but the new wine must be put into new bottles.' By many the end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012 was seen as the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one. Many civilizations have recognised Great Ages or cycles of time. The Greeks recognised a Golden, Silver, Bronze and Iron Age. The Hindus too recognise equivalent periods of time called 'Yugas'. Each can be seen as an unfolding of consciousness.

Nov - Dec 2012 - Forgiveness

Cover of Vision - November - December 2012HT Hamblin's reflections on forgiveness
In order to regain health, it is necessary to raise oneself up continually to the Divine Ideal of Health, harmony and perfection. But this is useless if there still remains a clashing of the personal will with the Divine Will, or if there is any hate, malice, envy, or fear in the heart. The will must be surrendered to the greater Will. (This, in reality, is our highest good, for the fulfilment of the Divine Will is the happy destiny of man.) The heart must forgive and be filled with love; fear must be cast out, and replaced by confidence and complete trust, before we can enter into that happy care-free restful state which is necessary for healing.

Sept - Oct 2012 - The Divine Plan

Cover of Vision - September - October 2012HT Hamblin's The Divine Plan
The Divine Presence is always with us, and the Divine Purpose is being unfolded in each life.
This purpose is the Will of the Father, obedience to which was taught by our Lord. There is mapped out for us a life that is perfectly designed for the achievement for the purpose in view, namely, that we should become sons of God, that is, gods.
This Divine plan, being based upon infinite wisdom, love is altogether wise, and can only desire for us as the Will of God.

July - Aug 2012 - Divine Purity

Cover of Vision - July - August 2012Divine Purity

In this issue we feature some reflective and moving articles on the nature of Purity.

By thinking of chastity and continence, and so on, we produce in the mind a feeling of repression. 'Thou shalt not' is the idea generated. By meditating, however, upon Purity there is no repression: there is no idea of crushing out, or smothering anything. There is perfect freedom and harmony, but on a higher plane.

May - June 2012 - Prayer

Cover of Vision - May June 2012In prayer we endeavour to realise the perfection of the Divine Order, the Wholeness, Completeness, Beauty and Joy of the Perfect World of Order which is God's Idea in harmonious expression; in other words, the Reality, from which we have fallen short. This is the Kingdom of the Spirit, or Christ, to which we ally ourselves and with which we become identified through aspiration and meditation.

We meditate not upon transient material wealth but upon Thee, the one unchanging Source of all things.

An issue packed with practical artices on prayer.
